Chairmans ramblings – July 2020

Again not a lot to say this month but we are going to try a virtual meeting to see if that works. How it is done is beyond me but we will give it a try.

If you have been looking at the website you will see that the Autosolo has been cancelled despite a lot of work from Chris Foxley and a little bit of thought from me and Steve Bayley along with discussions with Motorsport UK with regard to the practicalities of running it. The main reason is that only 3 people committed to helping. I won’t mention names , but they know who they are and thanks must go to them for offering.

We have still had a table top and also a quiz go round which a few did have a go at – I think there were 3 correct answers and Janet has named the winner and runners up.

I have put the Driveshaft route on maps and it is currently with relevant RLO’s for approvals as it will be using some different roads and areas this year – IF it can happen. The Christmas time road rally has also had a lot of work done on it but no more can happen on either event until further guidance and approval from Motorsport UK.

I trust you are all keeping well and are probably relieved that life is beginning to get back to normal – but still a long way to go.
