A Chinese Navy vessel committed an “unsafe” manoeuvre near a US destroyer transiting the Taiwan Strait, according to the US military. The vessel passed within 150 metres of the USS Chung-Hoon and crossed the ship's path while it was sailing with a Canadian warship on a joint mission. This is the second such encounter in 10 days, after a Chinese fighter aircraft executed an “unnecessarily aggressive manoeuvre” near a US surveillance plane in the South China Sea on 26 May.
