Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar stated that there is currently no proposal to increase the amount provided to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) from the existing Rs 6,000 per farmer annually. The PM-KISAN scheme, initiated in December 2018, transfers Rs 6,000 per year in three four-monthly instalments of Rs 2,000 directly into the bank accounts of farmers.
