New Delhi: Australia extended their impressive form in Pink-ball Tests as they secured a convincing 8-wicket win over England in the second Ashes Test at Brisbane, taking a 2-0 series lead. The victory was fueled by standout performances from Mitchell Starc, Michael Neser, and a blazing finish from Steve Smith.
England began the first innings with promise. Zak Crawley contributed 76, while Joe Root finally smashed a century on Australian soil, scoring 138. However, Australia’s Mitchell Starc wreaked havoc with a six-wicket haul, restricting England to 334. In response, Australia posted a massive total of 511, thanks to Jake Weatherald’s 72 off 78, Marnus Labuschagne’s 65 off 78, Steve Smith’s 61 off 85, and an all-round 77 from Starc. England suffered a batting collapse in second innings
