Armenian Defense Ministry responds to media reports regarding death of army officer while on duty
ArmInfo. The Armenian Ministry of Defense has responded to media reports regarding the death of an officer of the country's armed forces while on duty.
The Armenian Defense Ministry's statement noted that a misleading publication titled "A Defense Ministry officer died in an accident in Vardenis" is being circulated in various media outlets and several Telegram channels, with a photo of a conscript.
"We inform you that the officer of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia died in circumstances and at a location that had no relation to military service, and colleagues at the Ministry of Internal Affairs employees have provided the necessary information to the media," the Armenian Ministry of Defense stated, urging media representatives to be responsible and publish only accurate information on military- related topics. The department also extended condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased serviceman.
As reported earlier, an officer of the MOD of Armenia had died while on duty as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning.
