Man charged after victim shot several times in Jamestown
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A man is facing assault and weapon charges after he allegedly shot a male victim "several times" in Jamestown early Thursday morning, according to police.
Around 1 a.m., police responded to the area of East 2nd Street near Cheney Street for reports of a gunshot. They found a male suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was transported to UPMC Chautauqua with severe injuries before being flown to UPMC Hamot for further treatment.
The victim is expected to survive, police said. Xavier Ramos, 23, was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Ramos is being held pending arraignment.
