Yerevan spoke about terrorists at abandoned Armenian bases
Press Secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan spoke about the terrorists at the Armenian bases, abandoned by the military for tactical purposes. She wrote about this in her Telegram with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).
According to radio intelligence, in some territories, from where Armenian units have retreated in recent days, the Azerbaijani military are creating bases for terrorist groups, the ministry said. In the opinion of the Armenian side, their activities can further aggravate the situation on the borders of Karabakh and Armenia, as well as pose a serious danger to the entire region.
On October 26, a ceasefire came into force in Nagorno-Karabakh. The corresponding agreements were reached by Azerbaijan and Armenia with the mediation of the United States. The third ceasefire began at 08:00 local time (07:00 Moscow time), but soon the parties accused each other of violating the silence and continued to fight.
In 1991, Nagorno-Karabakh, the majority of whose population were Armenians, declared independence from Azerbaijan. Baku tried to return the region by force, a war broke out. In 1994, Azerbaijan, Armenia and the NKR signed a truce.
