Bill Clinton ‘saddened’ by loss of friend, Mayor Ed Lee
Former President Bill Clinton expressed sorrow on Twitter over former Mayor Ed Lee’s sudden death, and recalled recent times they spent together in San Francisco.
Clinton tweeted Wednesday morning, “Saddened by the loss of my friend, Mayor Ed Lee” I’ll always be grateful for his leadership and steadfast support. It was a privilege to spend time with him earlier this month at the @aids_memorial on #WorldAIDSDay2017. He will be missed.”
Clinton gave the keynote address at San Francisco’s World AIDS Day event on Dec. 1, which Lee attended.
