The Latest: Reed has 2-shot lead in 2nd round at Masters
AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — The Latest on Friday's second round of the Masters (all times local):5:15 p.m.
Patrick Reed made three consecutive birdies take a three-shot lead at the Masters.
Reed made birdies at Nos. 7, 8 and 9 in the second round Friday, getting to 8 under at the turn in tough conditions. He moved three shots ahead of playing partner Charley Hoffman and Marc Leishman.
Reed drained a 13-footer at the par-4 seventh. He reached the green at the par-5 eighth in two and then two-putted from 50 feet. He then sank a 14-footer at the par-4 ninth for the trifecta.
He gave a stroke back at No. 10, barely missing a 7-footer for par.
The 27-year-old Texan is looking for his first major.
