Karius Humble About His Excellent Save
The keeper maintains that he was just happy to help the team. This season has been a bit of a bumpy ride for Liverpool keeper Loris Karius. He spent most of it alternating goalkeeping duties with Simon Mignolet, until Klopp finally settled on Karius as the official number one. After that, he had to prove himself worthy of that important role amid plenty of healthy skepticism among fans and pundits alike.
Though there have been some misstep since Karius came into the role, the young German keeper has done well to begin building consistent confidence in his performances.
Saturday’s showing against Everton will only help his cause. It was another clean sheet for Liverpool — and Karius’s second in a week — and came with the added bonus of a wonderful fingertip save in the first half.
