UI Developer : Insomniac Games

Insomniac Games is looking for a skilled UX designer who’s passionate about creating intuitive UI that contributes to compelling gameplay experiences and player engagement. This individual will be working closely with the UX/UI Lead, as well as the Design and Art teams. This role typically works on things that include in-game HUD and player messages, frontend and pause menus, tutorial sequences, error display, icons, and loading screens. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Designs and documents UI flow for all aspects of game user interfaceCreates UI design mockups, wireframes, and prototypes
Implements UI features, menus, and elements using Actionscript 3
Responsible for creating and maintaining the back-end framework of our UI pipelineContributes to keeping our UI on the cutting edge of technology innovations and changeWorks closely with Lead to create a usable interface for game and to ensure that UI design aligns with game art directionReconciles art and design needs in UI design
Participates in usability testing, interpreting test results, and creating actionable tasksActs as UI representative when interacting with other departmentsOther duties may be assigned
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in information architecture, new media, information technology, communications, or library/information scienceComprehensive experience with Actionscript 3
Experience in C++ or C#
Knowledge of Flash, PhotoShop, Illustrator
Intermediate knowledge of Maya or other major 3D modeling programIndividual must have familiarity with and insight into relevant game user interface conventions, the ability to translate high-level goals into clear and usable interfaces, and effective communication skills when working with a team and presenting new ideas.
