Entitled White Property Owners vs Hiking Trails
Hiker was not on home owners property, same trail we have hiked for years. Home owner jumper over wall, follows hiker, and calls police saying he felt threatened.
This all started when William Jaffa started building this house. He was a Mesa City Council Member 15 years ago and still has a lot of contacts, which is why the city rerouted the trail, installed fences, signs, etc. After people continued to walk the small part of the train, the city sent someone out to make it harder to go on the trial by digging 4' deep holes that the point where the train changes. We had called the City to complain about the fences and this guy who has threatened almost everyone that walks on this trail to find out why the fence was installed (no other home owner in the area has had a fence installed by the city) and their excuse was to keep people from falling into the excavation during construction. This guy has also threatened people walking down the street in front of his house because it is a private neighborhood and he technically owns half of the street, that is paid for and maintained by the Las Sendas community. My wife was very upset during this and was afraid, having never been arrested, which I knew she wouldn't be anyway since she never stepped on his property. So, I told her to go home, she hadn't done anything wrong. So, she did. She then called the city again to complain and the city manager contacted the police, since she left her call back number, and the police contacted her. The police checked the video Bill said they had and of course, it showed she was not on the property. We are in the process of pressing charges for his threatening behavior. He felt so threatened after jumping over his wall and following her down the hill, that he called the police. The police are so tired of this guy calling because he has made so many calls on people walking the street or trail near his house. He is this bad and the house is still under construction. This is at the beginning of the Hawes Trail, Las Sendas, Mesa, AZ. He is also owner of Jaffa Simmons PLLC, so I hope anyone that sees this stops doing business with this company. A final note, adult illiteracy is nothing to be ashamed of, I'm sure someone will tell him what the sign says.
