Union IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday unveiled the vision document for 'Digital Northeast 2022' at an event in the city. He announced that the connectivity programme for northeastern states will entail inflow of nearly Rs 10,000 crore from the Centre through over 400 programmes expected to be rolled out in the next four years. The investments relate to enhancing telecom infrastructure, setting up BPOs, boosting electronics manufacturing and giving a push to digital payments, start-ups and cyber security, according to the Union minister.
