Game #117: It was all A’s all night at the Big A
Semien, Laureano, Jackson each make big impact in win
After what was a quite surprising 4-3 loss Friday night in Anaheim, the A’s bounced back in a big way Saturday defeating the Los Angeles Angels. The A’s 14 hits collectively but it was Marcus Semien who starred offensively with a double to lead-off the game, a three-run home run in the second inning and a solo shot in the top of the fourth. Khris Davis added to his home run total (34) in the top of the third and to his RBI total (92) in the top of the fifth with a single to plate Matt Chapman.

When it came to defense rookie Ramon Laureano stole the show with one of, if not the best, plays you may ever see in your lifetime. After running 80 feet to make an incredible catch, he launched the ball 320 feet directly to Mark Canha at first base.
You'll fall in love with Ramón Laureano's speed, but you'll want to marry Ramón Laureano's arm. W O W ! pic.twitter.com/3dRaPkL249

Edwin Jackson had what had to be his best game of the season, pitching 7 1⁄3 shutout innings and allowing just three hits. Emilio Pagan got into a bit of trouble in the bottom of the ninth giving up two hits, first to Shohei Ohtani and then to Jose Fernandez. He then hit the third batter he saw, Andrelton Simmons to load the bases. Thankfully he was able to get the next three hitters out with the final out coming on a nice defensive play by Semien. The A’s scored seven runs to the Angels seven hits and won the game by the score of 7-0.
