Thousands turn out for Disney movie casting call in Savannah
SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Thousands of people turned out for a casting call for extras for a film being filmed in Savannah.
The Savannah Morning News reports shooting for the Disney film is expected to run from Sept. 10 through early November.
Director Charlie Bean told city council members earlier this month that Savannah's downtown historic district was perfect for the "nostalgic romance" set around 1910.
The production team says two of downtown Savannah's oak-shaded squares will be closed for filming for a few days. A pedestrian lane behind the city's cobblestone riverfront will also be used as a filming location.
