Boro are one of those sides we really struggle to beat away from home - only two wins at Ayrsome/Riverside since the 1950s. Everton and Arsenal are another pair against whom we might as well stay at home - against Everton no league win since 1953, Arsenal nowt since 1957.
There are probably others where we travel with neither expectation nor hope.
So, is this just a statistical anomaly, or does history actually affect the way in which we approach games against such teams?
