CPS drop cases over ‘errors’
CASES against alleged rapists and violent offenders are being dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service over fears of disclosure errors “at the first sign of police delays”, warn lawyers. This has so concerned Victim’s Commissioner Lady Newlove she has asked for an urgent meeting with outgoing Director of Public Prosecutions Alison Saunders, whose tenure has been plagued by the disclosure crisis.
