Sabres' Rossi savors return
The precocious one is back, nearly all the way back to where she wants to be.
Davia Rossi's life completely changed when she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma prior to the start of her freshman year at Schalmont.
The soccer whiz kid, who helped Schalmont capture a Class B state title in 2015, missed all of 2016 as she underwent chemotherapy treatments.
She returned to the field as a sophomore, but was still recovering from her prolonged medical ordeal.
"It was different for me to adjust to because I was a very quick player. Things changed completely," Rossi said Saturday night after Schalmont beat Mohonasen 1-0 in overtime.
"In one game, I just broke down because I felt like I didn't know what I was doing," Rossi said.
