Hoodlums allegedly invade Abesan polling unit as Sanwo-Olu reportedly takes early lead in Lagos APC primary

- The mode of the poll is open direct primary which involves open and physical counting of members on queue behind the posters of their chosen aspirants
The voting process of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary was disrupted for a while at ward G north, Abesan in Alimosho, as thugs chased away voters.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the thugs numbering about 15 invaded the Abesan High School, venue of the exercise around 9.45am, flogging voters and preventing them from being accredited.

The motive of the hoodlums as well as their sponsors could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
Some policemen at the venue later responded to the situation by arresting some of the hoodlums and restored normalcy.

NAN however observed that there were large turnout of party members waiting to cast their votes for either Governor Akinwunmi Ambode or Babajide Sanwo-Olu
Meanwhile, Going by reports, there are indications that the governorship aspirant in Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is claiming an early lead at the primary in the Alausa area of Ikeja, the state capital and other polling units across the state.
