Hoodlums reportedly attack APC aspirant, destroy 21 cars in Niger

- Ado Abubakar, House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of APC, has been attacked by political thugs in Suleja, Niger state

- The attack was blamed on supporters of Abubakar Lado, the current representative of Suleja/Tafa federal constituency

- Three people that were injured in the incident have been taken to the Umaru Musa Yaradua General Hospital in Sabo Wuse for treatment

Emerging reports have claimed that Ado Abubakar, an All Progressive Congress aspirant for House of Representatives seat, was on Monday, October 1, attacked by political thugs in Suleja, Niger state.

Daily Trust reports that the attack that occurred around Kaduna road junction, was blamed on supporters of Abubakar Lado, the current representative of Suleja/Tafa federal constituency.

NAIJ.com gathered that three people that were injured in the incident have been taken to the Umaru Musa Yaradua General Hospital in Sabo Wuse for treatment.

It was learnt that about 19 vehicles bearing Abubakar’s tags and posters that were smashed inside a filling station in the area where they had parked for refuelling.

According to an eyewitness, the vehicles were coming in a convoy from Sabo Wuse where Ado is currently serving as chairman of Tafa local government.

The eyewitness further explained that about 30 vehicles had already left the filling station and were heading to Suleja for a campaign rally, when another convoy of the serving representative heading to Tafa got to the area.

The police area commander, Iliyasu Kwarbai, was said to have noted that he will not comment on the incident until after meeting the opponents.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that Shuaibu Gwada, a veteran journalist and APC senatorial aspirant for Niger east district called on Nigerians to support the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Gwada declared that the president's leadership scorecard in the past three years was laudable. R

He said that the president had lived up to expectations in economic reforms having enhanced local content and food sufficiency. “You can agree with me that Nigeria is now self-reliant on their own food produce especially rice. This administration has saved many Nigerians from poisonous rice that were being dumped in the country after many years in the ship,’’ Gwada said.
