Power plants get 10 pc rise in fuel supplies by CIL in H1,
Coal India witnessed 10 per cent growth in dry fuel supply to thermal power plants in the first half (April-September) of the current fiscal over the comparable period of 2017-18, a company statement said here on Tuesday.
Coal India supplied 232.21 million tonne of coal to the thermal power plants (TPPs) of the country during first half of the current fiscal.
This is 21.11 million tonne more coal than what had been supplied to TPPs during the same period last fiscal.
Monsoon and deluge in mines were major hurdles for the miner in the Q2 period to maintain the high double digit growth in production, the statement said.
CIL had registered a 15.2 per cent growth in coal production during the Q1 to 136.87 million tonne.
"Despite the monsoon impeding our production and coal offtake in the second quarter of the fiscal, we have been able to register a growth of 5.8 per cent and 4.5 per cent respectively in both these performance parameters during July-September 2018," the miner
