GMC student found dead in Phewa Lake

A student of Pokhara-based Gandaki Medical College was found dead in Phewa Lake today.
Body of Sishir KC, a resident of Beni Municipality-8, Myagdi, was found in the lake. He was fourth year MBBS student at GMC. DSP Komal Shah at Baidam said that message texted to Shah’s friend showed that KC had jumped into the lake himself.
Kaski police Spokesperson RabindramanShrestha said that message sent to KC’s friend had given direction where his body could be found. “It seems that KC removed his clothes before he jumped into the lake”, said spokesperson Gurung. Police said that KC was taking medicine for depression.
Personnel of Nepal Police and Nepal Army had reached the incident site and fished the body out of water immediately after the incident was reported to them.
