Woman told she’d never have children gives birth to enormous 15-POUND baby
A WOMAN who was told she would never have kids has given birth to an enormous 15-POUND baby.
Joi Buckley’s baby girl Harper weighed the same as a six-month old, and had a full head of hair when she was born on Monday.
Harper is the largest baby to be born in New York’s Arnot Odgen Medical Center.
She weighed exaclt 15lbs 5oz, and is 23 and a quarter inches long.
Filled with joy, Joi told WETM: “I knew she was going to be big, but I didn’t anticipate no 15-pound baby.”
Baby Harper is being monitored in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit, so medics can keep an eye on her sugar and oxygen levels.
Seven years ago the mum-of-three adopted a girl after learning it would be difficult for her to conceive.
Watching her friends give birth she couldn’t help feel “some resentment”, as some had as many as six children.
‘DON’T GIVE UP’
She asked herself, “why are they getting pregnant again?”
But two years ago, she and her husband were shocked to learn she was pregnant with their son, who weighed in at 11 pounds.
Joi now urges others to not give up.
She added: “The thing I’ve always wanted to do is be a mum, and finding out for the first time I was overjoyed.
“Don’t give up, cause it’s right there. It’s definitely right there ’cause my kids are total proof of that.”

Baby Harper’s birth comes after a youngster in a small south-western Russian town weighed in at 13lb 14oz.
The 42-year-old – who already has four kids – delivered the super-sized tot without any medical help last year.
According to the Guinness World Records, the heaviest recorded newborn was delivered by Italian mum Carmelina Fedele in 1955.
The gigantic tot weighed in at a staggering 10.2kg in Aversa, Italy.
