FA launch investigation after three more pitch invasions over weekend
THE FA will investigate ugly scenes of fan shame at Swansea, Bournemouth and West Ham.
Dorset Police are probing claims a female steward at Bournemouth suffered a broken nose after being assaulted in clashes with Newcastle supporters.
Seven arrests were made as Toon fans grappled with stewards and police on the Vitality Stadium turf following Matt Ritchie’s last-gasp equaliser.
West Ham vowed to slap a life ban on an invader who celebrated the late winner against Huddersfield.
And Manchester City’s controversial FA Cup win at Swansea was marred late on by two yobs.
One ran on to the pitch and confronted City star Oleksandr Zinchenko before being grabbed by stewards, who also held back the other supporter.
Toon boss Rafa Benitez condemned fans. He said: “It was some situation that we were not happy with. You have to stay calm and just celebrate.”
Cherries chief Eddie Howe said: “It is something that naturally is concerning a lot of people in the game.”
The incidents came the weekend after Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish was punched by a Birmingham fan, with Manchester United’s Chris Smalling confronted by a fan at Arsenal.
The flashpoints came a day after the EFL, FA and Premier League condemned “reprehensible actions of fans” entering the field of play.
