Four youths were killed and two were injured when a truck crashed into their bike from behind on the Noida Expressway early on Thursday. Police said the four- Bhawna Shobhit Kaushal and Sonu- were returning home from work at an eatery in Greater Noida when the accident occurred near the Advantage Building in Sector 142. The Adani Group has approached the Uttar Pradesh government for 700 acres near the Noida International Airport to set up an industrial and warehousing complex. The group would deposit 50 of the land value upfront so that it could be acquired without any hurdle. The group has proposed a logistics park at Tappal Bajna under the “phase 2 master plan” of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. The Gurugram University has opened an animation and multimedia lab which will help with the courses offered at the university. The hit-and-run that left a final year btech student, Sweety Kumari comatose with critical head injuries on New Year's Eve has made no headway with no CCTV footage to point the police towards the white hatchback- possibly a Santro- that is believed to have hit Sweety and two of her friends from the back around 9pm that night. Four people were arrested in connection with a string of burglaries in Gurgaon. A committee of officials from the pollution department and the district magistrate will assess if three industrial units in Gurgaon are releasing emissions that are affecting the health of residents living in the vicinity. If it is found that the units are violating environmental norms, the committee will provide copies of the report to the companies involved so that they can file objections.
