Ex-model in Boris Johnson scandal feels ‘betrayed’ he hasn’t been in touch

An ex-model at the centre of scandalous allegations about Boris Johnson is said to feel ‘betrayed’ that he hasn’t been in touch.

Technology entrepreneur Jennifer Arcuri, 34, was allegedly granted more than £100,000 of public funding while Boris was Mayor of London.

He also allegedly gave her privileged access to three City Hall-led foreign trade missions.

The US businesswoman reportedly told friends that she was having an affair with Boris at the time – something she denies.

Her ex-boyfriend, Joe Yukich, has now told how Ms Arcuri feels ‘betrayed’ after ‘waiting to hear’ from the Prime Minister when the story first broke.

He told the Sunday Mirror: ‘It amazes me she was holding out hope that Boris would reach out and come to her aid.

‘She’s extremely smart, but she’s naive like that. She’s feeling betrayed by the Boris camp now.’

He added: ‘She was hoping Boris was going to be like a knight in shining armour and come to her rescue. It took her a while to understand politicians run to the hills when s**t hits the fan.’

Ms Arcuri’s company Innotech first received £10,000 in sponsorship from a mayor organisation in 2013.

She reportedly then went on to win a £15,000 grant to encourage foreign entrepreneurs in the UK, before her company Hacker House was awarded a Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport £100,000 cyber-skills grant.

The company is UK-registered, despite the American entrepreneur moving back to the US last year.

She is also alleged to have attended three trade mission trips, two of which she was reportedly refused permission for at first, because she did not meet the eligibility criteria.

The Sunday Times claims to have seen emails which show she was only allowed on the missions after Boris intervened.

Ms Arcuri denied receiving special treatment and having an affair with Boris, stating this week that it was a ‘very complex relationship’ and not a ‘Monica Lewinsky’.

She also claimed to make ‘men trip over their d**ks’ for her, adding: ‘That’s what happens. They go insane around me. They’ve been doing it for years’.
