Cheryl blasts ‘inappropriate’ Rita Ora in text tirade over her steamy TV snog with ex Liam Payne

CHERYL Cole sent a text tirade to Rita Ora accusing her of being “inappropriate” with Liam Payne on American TV, pals have revealed.

The former Girls Aloud star, 36, was watching at home with baby son Bear when she saw Liam and Rita in a clinch.

The pair were performing their Fifty Shades Freed duet For You when they got up to some risque moves themselves.

Unimpressed Cheryl, who was dating ex-1D star Liam at the time, immediately reached for her phone.

She told Rita, 28: “That’s my boyfriend and the father of my child you’re flirting with — it’s disrespectful. Do you really think that’s necessary?”

Cheryl also confronted Liam about the pair’s chemistry on The Tonight Show in January last year.

A friend said: “Cheryl was sitting at home alone with an 11-month-old baby asleep upstairs, watching her boyfriend on Jimmy Fallon’s show.

“She saw him and Rita all over each other, and Rita looking like she was going in for a kiss. Obviously it was very upsetting.

“She immediately texted Rita, asking her what the hell was going on. She said she thought it was inappropriate and basically asked her to back off.”

The source added that Rita was “mortified” and replied nothing was going on. “She told Cheryl she would never, ever go there in a million years.”

Afterwards, fans went wild speculating about Liam and Rita’s “gyrating”.

In the wake of Cheryl’s concerns, they agreed to play down their on-stage flirting. And three weeks later they sang the same track at the Brit awards — and didn’t touch. Commentators noted their “risible lack of chemistry”.

Five months later, in July, Cheryl and Liam split. The end of the two-year relationship had nothing to do with Rita.

An insider said last night: “Rita and Cheryl have patched up their differences and there is no bad blood between any of the trio. They are all friends now.”
