Trucks and buses to be checked in week-long police campaign
Police will be carrying out a road campaign on trucks and buses from Monday until next Sunday, they announced.
Driver and vehicle documentation will be checked, working hours, speedometer checks, tyres, and the mechanical condition of vehicles will all be looked at.
The campaign is being run on a wider European level in cooperation with the European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL). It aims to effectively tackle traffic offences and prevent serious and fatal accidents.
