An early season AFC West divisional game awaits the Broncos and Chargers in California. Los Angeles is 2-2 on the year, while the Broncos are a winless 0-4. While the Chiefs sit atop the standings at 4-0, there is no clear cut team to put behind them. Last year, the Broncos won, 23-22, in L.A. on a game-winning field goal, while the Chargers returned the favor one month later with a 23-9 victory in Denver.

This time it was a game-winning field goal by Josh Lambo to lift the Jaguars to a 26-24 win on the road. Joe Flacco had by far his best game offensively with 303 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, but it wasn’t enough. Emmanuel Sanders recorded his first 100-yard receiving game (104 yards) and Courtland Sutton added two touchdowns. While the passing game seemed to work, the running game was limited to just 68 total yards.
Leonard Fournette had his way with the Broncos defense and tortured them to the tune of 225 yards on 29 carries. The result was rather surprising as Denver had yet to surrender over a 100 yards rushing to any running back in the first three weeks of the season. On a positive note, the pressure by Bradley Chubb and Von Miller is what coach Vic Fangio has been hoping for all season. Prior to the game, the defense had yet to record a sack. Chubb finished with seven tackles and one sack, while Miller added six tackles and two sacks for a unit that had five total sacks against Jacksonville.
Los Angeles became the latest team to beat up on the Miami Dolphins after its 30-10 victory and currently rank fifth in the NFL in total offense (403.8 YPG). Philip Rivers completed 24 of 30 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns to bring his total to 1,254 yards, which is tied for third in the NFL. Austin Ekeler rushed for 60 yards and one touchdown, and also added another score as a receiver. It will be interesting to see how the return of Melvin Gordon, who rushed for nearly 3,000 total yards total in the last three seasons, will affect his role. Gordon has held out since the summer in hopes of a new contract, but recently reported back to the team and is expected to play against the Broncos.
Defensively, the Chargers tallied five sacks and held the Dolphins to 252 yards of total offense. Rayshawn Jenkins led the way with six tackles, while Desmond King had four tackles and two and a half sacks. Michael Davis had three tackles to go along with the lone interception for the Chargers.
