Scattered showers, turning cooler
Good Sunday Evening!
A cold front will push southeast of central Ohio Sunday evening. An upper-level disturbance will lift north across the region overnight, enhancing the rain for a time extending north across much of the state, then shifting southeast toward dawn.
The temperature peaked in the mild mid-70s, but readings are dipping back into the 60s now behind the front, and will end up in the chilly low to mid-50s at daybreak.
Any lingering rain will exit the area Monday morning, followed by clearing and cool conditions, with highs in the mid-60s. A warmer southerly flow will return midweek, with readings rising back into the low to mid-70s, but with cool mornings in the 40s — ideal for initiating the traditional color change under sunny skies.
A strong system will move into the Upper Midwest at the end of the week. An unseasonably warm, gusty day is likely ahead of the front on Friday (upper 70s) heading into Football Friday Nite, with showers arriving overnight into Saturday morning. The coolest air of the season so far will follow next weekend behind a strong cold front.
