Twitter users are posting photos of their lookalike parents for viral thread
Do you think you look more like your mom or your dad?
Almost every 20-something-year-old wonders just how much of their appearance is inherited. At family gatherings, friends and relatives might take an educated guess or offer judgment to satisfy the parent who asked.
But why just settle for your family and friends’ takes when strangers on the internet can have a say, too?
On Wednesday, Twitter user @haileylainee asked users to reply with three pictures: one of their mom when she was around their current age, a photo of their dad when he was younger, and then, most importantly, a recent photo of themselves.

@haileylainee, known as hails on her account, then tweeted the reason behind the now-viral thread: “TWITTER DO UR THING! my father has 15 other children so if this looks like your dad too pls dm id like to meet all my siblings.”
The results were staggering.
Nearly 7,500 Twitter users responded. If they weren’t following instructions and posting photos of themselves and their parents, they were giving their hot takes on which parent other commenters looked most like.

Of course, there were instances where the users looked nothing like one of their parents. There were also a few rare cases in which the child insisted they didn’t look like either their mom or dad.

For what it’s worth, we can’t tell if @haileylainee met the rest of her siblings (last she said, she only met four of them). But from the way the thread is currently blowing up, we hope it won’t be long before @haileylainee can finally meet the rest of her brothers and sisters.
