Man badly burned in SE Portland house fire
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man was badly burned in a southeast Portland house fire Saturday afternoon.
Portland Fire & Rescue sent crews out to a home SE 112th Ave around noon. The fire was active, and one man was injured when firefighters arrived, the agency reported on Twitter.
A middle-aged man suffered burns to roughly 40% of his body, said PF&R. He was taken to a nearby burn center for treatment. Firefighters also attempted to resuscitate a dog, but it is unknown if the dog recovered. A house cat was safely rescued from the house.
The fire was put out approximately 20 minutes after PF&R reported it. An investigator remained at the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.
