Harry Redknapp states his prediction for Arsenal v Crystal Palace
Harry Redknapp is backing Arsenal to bounce back to winning ways in the Premier League with a victory over Crystal Palace at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners are preparing to welcome the Eagles to The Emirates as they look to try and respond following the disappointment of their 1-0 loss to Sheffield United on Monday night.
Arsenal responded to that defeat with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Vitoria in the Europa League at The Emirates on Thursday night thanks to Nicolas Pepe’s two goals from the bench.
The north London side have only won two of their last five games in the Premier League and they will be eager to put that right when they host their London rivals on Sunday afternoon.
And former Tottenham Hotspur manager Redknapp is fully expecting to see the Gunners claim all three points against the Eagles this weekend.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Redknapp said: “Arsenal have been infuriatingly inconsistent this season but with only two losses find themselves still heavily involved at the top end.
“They had enough chances to avoid defeat at Sheffield United, but ultimately drew a blank for the first time in all competitions this term.
“Sunday’s visit from Crystal Palace gives them the ideal opportunity to address this although the Eagles are just a point behind.
“They were hammered 4-0 at Spurs and lost 2-0 at home to Manchester City on their last outing and that inability to compete against the bigger clubs is proving their achilleas heel.
“Arsenal will be keen to convert their supremacy into goals at the Emirates and should put the memory of South Yorkshire firmly behind them.”
Arsenal are looking to try and break back into the Premier League’s top four this season after they finished fifth and without a trophy last term.
The Gunners will return to League Cup action on Wednesday night next week with a trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool FC in the fourth round.
