James McAvoy ‘secretly marries’ girlfriend Lisa Liberati three years after split from Anne-Marie Duff
HOLLYWOOD actor James McAvoy is believed to have married his girlfriend Lisa Liberati in secret after she was spotted wearing a wedding ring.
The X Men hunk is reported to have been calling Lisa his “wife” and told how they got hitched just “recently”, according to Mail Online.
The publication reports how James, 40, who met Lisa, also 40, during his split with ex wife Anne-Marie Duff, had seemingly given the inside track to director Jamie Lloyd, who was overheard saying Lisa visits him in rehearsals.
He referred to her as James’ wife – apparently letting slip the secret.
Images have additionally shown the Starter For 10 actor standing close to Lisa, who can be seen holding her left hand behind her back with a shimmering ring on her wedding finger.
The silver band glistened on her finger as they paid a visit to the film set for Dispatches From Elsewhere.
The cute couple were first linked in 2016 when James was shooting Split in Lisa’s native Philadelphia.
Lisa is the PA of Split director M.Night Shyamalan and has worked on several of his films including Species, Devil and The Visit.
The pair became Instagram official at Halloween 2018 after partying alongside the cast and crew of Shyamalan’s follow-up film, Glass.
This came just two months after his divorce from Anne-Marie was finalised.
The couple wed in November 2006 and announced their split in May, 2016.
At the time, a joint statement read: “It is with tremendous sadness that we have come to the decision to divorce.
“We enter this next phase with continued friendship, love and respect for one another and the shared focus of caring for our son.
“We ask that you respect our and, most importantly, our child’s privacy during this time.”
James met English stage actress Anne-Marie Duff on the set of Channel 4’s Shameless.
The pair were love interests on the show and departed the series together while they started a relationship off-camera as well.
The two married in a quiet ceremony in 2006 and have one child, Brendan, together, who was born in 2010. They divorced in late 2016.
When they’re not working, the ex-couple both live with their son in London to avoid disruption to his life.

In 2016, James addressed his love life and said: “ You never know who’s the right one. I don’t think there is a ‘right’ one.
“There are many people you could fall in love with forever. It is an ongoing thing you work at.
“I don’t care if people are living without a marriage certificate. It is just about people saying , ‘I commit to you’.”
