Pochettino reveals why Lamela has been left out vs Liverpool
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed the reason why Erik Lamela is not included in today’s match day squad against Liverpool.
The midfielder was spotted arriving at Anfield earlier this afternoon with the rest of the Spurs squad but his name was not included when the squad was announced.
It has now been revealed that Lamela suffered a minor thigh problem during the team training session on Saturday and following medical advice from a doctor it has been decided that he should not be risked against the Premier League leaders.
Lamela scores during the midweek win against Red Star Belgrade in what was his 200th appearance for the club, hopefully he will be back in action soon and this is nothing more than a precautionary measure.
Tottenham face a difficult test against Jurgen Klopp’s side who have only dropped two points from their opening nine top flight fixtures this campaign.
