Stockport’s Frank Mulhern scores 45-yard goal-of-the-season contender against Dover
FRANK MULHERN scored a goal of the season contender as Stockport beat Dover 1-0.
The 22-year-old produced a moment of magic as he found the net with a 45-yard volley.
Mulhern gave his side the lead in the 29th minute of the Vanarama National League clash.
After the ball was knocked onto him, the flashy forward took a touch and pulled the trigger from just inside of Dover’s half.
The inch-perfect volley glided over the head of goalkeeper Yusuf Mersin and into the roof of the net.

Dover were unable to bounce back after the stunning strike – but are still above Jim Gannon’s in the league table because of their goal difference.
A clip of the goal went viral on Twitter and Mulhern even decided to share it with his 3,076 followers.
He simply added the caption: “Whack.”
One supporter replied: “Goal of the season is now closed after that… Well done Frank, fantastic finish.”

Another added: “I can’t help but keep watching that goal! What a belter!!! Incredible touch and finish.”
While another said: “Take a bow lad.”
But the celebrations were kept under control – unlike the Brazilian fan who was slated for recklessly swinging his young son around after his team scored a goal.
