No player really impresses as Royals fall flat on a cold, windy winter afternoon in Stoke.

Had nothing to do. Literally, nothing to do. So I don’t know what I’m supposed to rate him on - will be surprised if he hasn’t caught hypothermia after standing in that cold for 90 minutes.
Chris Gunter: 6
A solid display from Gunts. Will be in the team for a while now after Andy Yiadom’s injury, and didn’t really put a foot wrong.
Michael Morrison: 5
As dominating as ever in the air, but yet more hairy moments when he tried to play out from the back - he is just not suited to that side of the game at all.
Liam Moore: 6
Typically spirited performance from the skipper, but still failing to hit the heights that he has in previous seasons. He’ll be happy with a clean sheet.
Tyler Blackett: 5
Still a player who makes me very nervy whenever I see him on the team sheet, but didn’t really make any notable errors this time.

Snuffed out a few Stoke City attacks quite well, but again sloppy in possession and seems he still hasn’t adjusted to the pace of the Championship.

Probably Reading’s standout player - for want of a better word. Carried the ball out of tricky situations quite well and was as tenacious as ever.
Charlie Adam: 6
Starting two games in the space of four days definitely took its toll by the time he was taken off, but he was one of the few players on the pitch to show a bit of quality on the ball.

A few sumptuous moments in the first half but was nullified well in the second half by the hosts. Desperately needs his mate Swifty back to give him a helping hand.
Lucas Joao: 5
A mixture of getting absolutely no service and not doing enough to create anything for himself. Put himself about a bit more than usual, but very quiet still.
Sam Baldock: 5
Hassled and harried as he does every game but to no avail. Probably only touched the ball about seven times.

Added a bit of speed and pace to the play along with a willingness to run at his man and try and make something happen.

Why he hasn’t started more games is beyond me - I can tell there’s a very good player in there just waiting to be unleashed.
