Jurgen Klopp sends warning to Liverpool FC’s title rivals
Jurgen Klopp has warned his Premier League rivals that there is much more to come from his Liverpool FC team.
The Reds boss committed to a new long-term contract with Liverpool FC on Friday morning to extend his stay at the club until 2024.
Klopp will be hoping to add further silverware to the Liverpool FC trophy cabinet after the German coach led the Reds to the Champions League title last term.
The Liverpool FC manager steered the Reds to their first major trophy at the fourth time of asking thanks to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final.
Klopp’s side are in a strong position to win their first-ever Premier League title after building up a significant lead at the top of the table.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website about his current group of players, Klopp predicted that the Reds team will only improve.
“We don’t think that we are only close to our 100 per cent but we try to come closer and closer and closer,” Klopp told Liverpool FC’s website.
“That’s what we said after the Champions League final, after the first one, after the second one: this is not the final chapter for this team, there are a lot more to write and we want to be really influential in that.
“We don’t know where it will lead us to, but in this moment… I don’t know the teams before I came in, but it’s one of the teams who are most committed to this club and it’s really, really nice to be part of that.”
Liverpool FC appointed Klopp as their new manager in October 2015 after the Merseyside outfit parted company with Brendan Rodgers.
The Reds have reached four finals under the German head coach, losing to Manchester City, Sevilla and Real Madrid in the League Cup, Europa League and Champions League finals.
The 18-time English champions booked their place in the Champions League round of 16 thanks to a 2-0 win at RB Salzburg last week.
