Former USC QB Jack Sears transfers to San Diego State
Former USC quarterback Jack Sears has committed to transfer to San Diego State, according to a report from the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Sears, a former San Clemente standout, announced he would transfer from USC in September before the Trojans’ season opener. Sears had been named the fourth-string quarterback prior to his decision to transfer.
He will arrive at San Diego State as a graduate transfer immediately eligible to play in 2020, with two years of eligibility remaining.
Sears played in one game in his USC career, a 38-35 loss to Arizona State in 2018 when starter JT Daniels was out with a concussion. Sears completed 20 of 28 attempts in that game for 235 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
Sears arrived at USC as a four-star recruit out of San Clemente, picking the Trojans over Duke, Arizona, Arizona and Boston College, among others.
