[Men's Basketball] No. 7 DWU Pulls Away from MBB in 2nd Half
Doane Men's Basketball closed out their 2019 conference slate with a road trip to Mitchell, S.D., on Saturday. NAIA No. 7 Dakota Wesleyan pulled away in the second half to post a 79-51 win over Doane.
The visiting Tigers were led by Anthony Laravie (JR/Omaha, Neb.) with 13 points and Joe Burt (SO/Lincoln, Neb.) with 12 points. Miguel Lopez (JR/St. Croix, US Virgin Islands) added eight points and a team-high six rebounds. Doane shot 34-percent from the floor in the game, limited to 24-percent in the final 20 minutes.
Dakota Wesleyan was led by Ty Hoglund with 36 points, scoring 25 in the first half to keep DWU in front, 37-32 at the break.
Doane will close out the 2019 schedule with a road trip to Fort Collins, Colo., to take on NCAA Division I Colorado State on December 28. The game will go down as an exhibition for Doane but will count on the CSU record. Tip-off is set for 2 PM and the game will be carried on the Mountain West Network
