Nevada couple killed in Alaska crash loved outdoors, travel
(AP) — A Nevada couple killed in the crash of a sightseeing plane in Alaska looked forward to pursuing their passions for the outdoors and travel together in retirement, friends said.
The plane was on its way back from the Misty Fjords National Monument when it crashed in remote, mountainous terrain about 25 miles from Ketchikan in southeast Alaska.
The eight victims were passengers on a cruise ship, and the side trip on a floatplane was sold through the cruise company Holland America.
Longtime neighbor Vicki Humphriss said the couple bought a motor home with plans to travel extensively across the U.S. in retirement.
