Vegas Strip pedestrian bridges to get $26 million upgrade
The Nevada Department of Transportation said Wednesday the renovated bridges linking the Excalibur, New York-New York, the Tropicana and MGM Grand casino-hotels will be under construction starting 2016 and are expected to be finished by mid-2017.
Agency spokesman Tony Illia says the concrete and chain-link fence structures were the first pedestrian bridges built across the Strip 21 years ago and have 130,000 people traversing them every day.
