Schools wish to begin classes, write to DM
Unhappy with the district administration’s decision, several schools on Wednesday wrote to the district magistrate expressing their desire to reopen so as not to hamper studies. They complained of having already reduced number of teaching days following rise in number of holidays declared by the government. More holidays means completing syllabus in a hurry which burdens children. They statedd that humidity levels will remain high for the entire monsoon season, so this extension of vacation was not justified.
