Denis Leary Says 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3' Could Have Featured Resurrected Dead Characters
Sony had high hopes for Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” series. Not only would there be a trilogy but some spin-offs, including the much-discussed “Sinister Six,” a female-led movie in the Spidey-verse that may or may not have been Spider-Woman, or even that rumored (and later debunked) Aunt May spin-off. As we all now, none of that worked out and the Webhead is now a piece of the giant Marvel jigsaw puzzle, though Sony still has a stake in the rights. While we’ll never actually see how Webb might have brought his Spider-Man trilogy to close, in a chat with IGN at Comic-Con, Denis Leary — aka Captain Stacy — revealed some of the early discussions that were taking place for what could have been “The Amazing Spider-Man 3.”
