VANILLA Ice is hosting a 4th of July concert in Texas despite surging coronavirus cases.
The singer will be performing at the Independence Day Throwback Beach Party in Austin – where all other bars are closed due to the pandemic.
He will be performing at the Emerald Point Bar & Grill, meaning it’s allowed to go ahead due to a legal loophole, according to the Austin Chronicle.
It is technically a restaurant, with a large capacity outdoor concert space, meaning they avoid the guidelines restricting large crowds.
The singer wrote alongside footage of previous concert: “I can’t wait to get back to this. The 90s were the best.
“We didn’t have coronavirus, or cell phones, or computers. We had 5.0’s, blockbuser, Beavis and Butthead, Wayne’s World, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan…
“Mortal Kombat is still better than Fortnight… the last of the great decades.”
The venue is selling at half capacity, which is 2,500 tickets. They are $25 for general admission and $300 for VIP seating. However, these are sold out.
He will be playing alongside act Color Me Badd.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered all the bars in Texas to close again on Friday due to the a surge in coronavirus cases.

Bar owners in Texas are now suing governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission after they were ordered to close again.
In court documents, the businesses argue that the executive order forcing them to close has single them out unfairly, according to CBS News.
Lawyers representing the businesses claim in the documents that the orders meant the bar owners had been “relegated to Abbott’s loser category and sentenced to bankruptcy.”
