As of the end of July, there were 50,701 registered unemployed, and the unemployment rate stood at 7.8 percent, which was the same as in June and 2.9 percentage points higher than the rate last year. By some demographics, such as among the young and in Ida-Viru County, the rate has seen a rise, but in others, including those over 55, it has fallen.
