Jeff Bridges Gives Health Update After Lymphoma Diagnosis
Jeff Bridges wants everyone to know he is feeling all the love and support after recently revealing that he has been diagnosed with lymphoma.
“I want to thank you all for reaching out during this time, it feels good getting all the well wishes and love,” the actor tweeted alongside a photo of himself posing in his hospital robe while receiving treatment. The 70-year-old Oscar-winner also directed fans to a website he launched that will act as an online journal of his health updates.
“This cancer thing is bringing on feelings of preciousness, and gratitude, and good old fashion love, and lots of it, big time,” Bridges wrote. “I’m feeling so much of it comin’ my way, and man, I appreciate it. It’s contagious, all this love, like some kind of positive virus.”
“This cancer is making me appreciate my mortality, appreciate impermanence,” he said, adding that he is thankful for “all the well wishes and love” he’s received during this time.
He also shared links to things he would like to “shine a light on.” The first link directed fans to a video of his band and the Abiders performing their song “Welcome Mat” in which they encourage fans to vote. In another, fans are directed to a video of Bridges discussing environmentally-friendly guitars because, he writes, it’s important to “take care of our trees.”
Bridges ended his first note by assuring he would continue to giving updates in his health journey. “I’m lookin’ to be in a partnership with you guys in creating a beautiful life and world for all of us.”
