Two Men Killed While Attacking Turkish-Backed Militants In Occupied Afrin (Video)
On October 30, two men were killed while attempting to bomb a headquarters of the Turkish-backed Sham Legion in the occupied area of Afrin in northern Syria.
According to several opposition sources, two men were parking a booby-trapped motorcycle near the headquarters, which is located in the town of Bassuta, when it exploded as a result of a malfunction.
The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least two militants of the Sham Legion were injured in the explosion.
No group has claimed responsibility for the failed attack, so far. However, Afrin Liberation Forces and the Wrath of Olives Operations Room are known for carrying out similar attacks against Turkish-backed militants in Afrin. Both factions are Kurdish.
The Turkish military and its proxies occupied Afrin after a brief battle with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units in 2018.
A state of lawlessness is now prevailing over Afrin and other Turkish-occupied areas in northern and northwestern Syria. Crime is widespread there and attacks are taking place on a regular basis.
