Good Morning Britain drops below a million viewers as ratings continue to plummet following Piers Morgan’s exit
GOOD Morning Britain has lost more than one million viewers since Piers Morgan sensationally quit.
The ITV programme sunk to 0.86m and even then that was in the last five minutes as it crossed over to Lorraine.
Despite it being on Bank Holiday Monday its rival BBC Breakfast still managed more than two million viewers.
Yesterday fewer than a million people watched Adil Ray and Kate Garraway present the ITV show.
Roger Johnson and regular Louise Minchin presented the BBC show.
When Piers walked off GMB last month the ITV breakfast programme hit its highest ever at 1.89m.
It beat Breakfast for the second time ever which had 1.76m.
Later that day Piers announced he would be leaving GMB after he refused to apologise over comments he made about Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in the US.
Later in March, The Sun reported how ratings had sunk to 1.1m to see Ben Shephard step in alongside co-host Susanna Reid.
Then another 100,000 turned off watching Adil and Susanna.
Overnight in the US, an interview with Piers aired giving his reaction to his exit.
He spoke more on Susanna’s frosty farewell which he admitted hit him hard.
Piers told Tucker Carlson: “Susanna, my co-host for five years, is a good friend of mine.
“Honestly I think she was in the grip of fear, I think she was fearful that if she went too far saying nice things about me, the same thing might happen to her.”
He continued: “There would be a huge Twitter pile on, this is how it works, there was no real mainstream media interest in what I said on that Monday show.

“It was all being driven online by a very orchestrated mob.”
Piers also told how Princess Diana would be “horrified” by “Prince Harry splitting with his brother William and smearing the Queen”.
And he demanded Meghan “names royals who rejected her requests for help after claiming she was suicidal”.
