Azerbaijanis ‘throw stones’ on Armenian car on Kapan-Yerevan highway
A passenger vehicle with Armenian license plates came under a stone attack by several Azerbaijanis recently after being spotted on an inter-community highway connecting Kapan (Syunik region) with the capital city, the mayor of the south-eastern border town said today, without specifying the date.
“The incident occurred on the road section between [the villages of] Davit Bek and Shurnukh. That section it under Russian border guards’ control. The Azerbaijanis targeted the highway from that particular section to hit the car with stones,” Gevorg Parsyan told Tert.am, adding that the vehicle was not damaged.
But he admitted that situations of the kind often create real security hazards.
